MK Party's president Jacob Zuma address members of the party ahead local government election.
Former African National Congress (ANC) President Jacob Zuma addressed a mass gathering rally of uMkhonto weSizwe in KwaXimba, KwaZulu-Natal. Zuma joined the party in December last year. Addressing the party members, he says the ANC of today is no longer the ANC of yesterday. “This ANC of today is the ANC that expels its members, members who don’t agree with certain leadership are expelled”.
Zuma lambasted ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa, stating that in 2017, Ramaphosa didn’t win the party’s presidency. “He bought votes, and this is evidence as there is a judge who I cannot name right now, who asked him at the State Capture Commission of Inquiry”. He said, the judge asked Ramaphosa, ” I heard that you bought votes to be elected as ANC president, how true is that? “There was no logical answer”, says Zuma.
The MK party is gaining supporters in KwaZulu-Natal, which fears the ANC in the Province. ANC KwaZulu-Natal Secretary Bheki Mtolo briefed the media on Wednesday, saying he has tried to communicate with Zuma about his wrong decision of joining the newly Mk.
He said, “We sent leaders of the ANC in the Province to speak with Zuma in his home in Nkandla, but Zuma did not agree to speak with any of them”. Motlo added by saying, “Zuma has made his mind and there is no point in trying to persuade him to stay in the ANC”.
“Just like any newly formed party, when it starts, people have energy on it, but when time goes by, people start to realize the kind of party they are dealing with,” concluded Mtolo.
